The no-fault divorce is a welcome step forward

After many years of campaigning, no-fault divorce will be law in England and Wales in April.

By removing the need for divorcing couples to apportion blame — adultery, unreasonable behaviour — or having to wait two years to divorce by consent, the updated legislation is rightly heralded as a positive step that will reduce blame and help to make separation less antagonistic.
