Divorcees have highest mortality rate

Marriage truly is good for the health. Married couples have a consistently lower premature death rate than those who are single, divorced or widowed, research suggests.

Figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that men and women of all ages who were married or in a civil partnership consistently had the lowest mortality rates.
