As a divorced parent, Marcie Shaoul knew how tough Christmas could be, but when she began working as a coach to other separated parents, even she was taken aback by the stories she heard.
There were parents who spent months fighting over the exact minute their children should be handed over on Christmas Day, others argued over whose chimney Santa was coming down, and one mother made her two children, aged 11 and 13, strip on her doorstep so they didn’t enter wearing clothes from their father’s house.
