Winners were announced during a special ceremony following the Financial Remedies Conference 2026, hosted by Samantha Hillas KC & awards presented by Lord Charlie Falconer, & the categories sponsor representative.

Thank you to those who joined us for the awards. The awards were a fantastic opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate and recognise the incredible achievements of each of the winners.

Young Barrister of the Year

Young Barrister of the Year was awarded to Cara Donegan, QEB

The Young Barrister of the Year category recognises an emerging talent who is already making waves in the field of financial remedies. Whether through standout contributions to key cases, sharp legal thinking, or a strong commitment to pro bono work. These categories aim to highlight individuals that demonstrate exceptional promise early in their career.

What the judges have said:
“The winner was chosen because she excelled in notable cases, settlement, non-court resolution and pro bono work. The judges cited her Court of Appeal and Part III work, her pFDR successes, the Family BarLink pro bono scheme and her active mentoring of pupils and junior barristers.”
