It has become a coronavirus truism that lockdown around the world - weeks on end in close confinement with your spouse - has produced a spike in divorce.
In China, more than a dozen cities reported a spike in filings for divorce during the lockdown, with a month-long waiting list reported in Shanghai in February. There has been speculation that Italy, which has a relatively low divorce rate, may see an increase in couples separating after the strain of enforced time together.
And certainty, anecdotal evidence suggests that spouses in Britain are antagonising each other as we enter the fifth week of lockdown. Interest in divorce, however has dipped.
