What was dubbed as Australia's most expensive divorce is finally over after 14 years of court hearings in Adelaide. 

A Family Court judge rejected a bid last month to re-open the case between the former South Australian couple, which resulted in $40million being blown in legal fees and the use of 16 law firms during the long running and bitter dispute.

One judge previously labelled the case in 2016 as 'a farce' and created 'a cottage industry' for the legal profession, the Adelaide Advertiser reported.
