Last week's newsletter, with a full case summary of Grandison v Joseph [2019] EWHC 977 (Fam) is now available to view online here

What we believe to be a feature unique to @eGlance is the Amendment Rules tab within the Family Procedure Rules section.

At the start of this tab are listed, in chronological order, all the Family Procedure (Amendment) Rules that have been promulgated since the introduction of the 2010 Rules themselves.

The list looks like this:

Fam Pro Rules 1

So, if you know which Amendment Rule you are looking for, just click on it, and you are taken to a brief commentary on the change(s) made by the Rule, the date it came into force and a link to the Statutory Instrument itself if you need to go further.

Alternatively, if you are trying to find a specific rule amendment, then the starting point is the commentary section which follows the list of Amendment Rules. It too is set out in chronological order.

Simply scroll through this section until you find the rule which made the amendment in question.

So if, say, you are looking for the important amending rule which inserted rule 9.9A (procedure for setting aside financial orders) into the FPR and you know it was fairly recent, scroll up from the bottom and you very quickly come upon the Family Procedure (Amendment No 2) Rules 2016.

The commentary speaks as at the date of each Rule's introduction and is notrevised to reflect subsequent amendments and repeals. These latter are of course incorporated in @eGlance’s Family Procedure Rules.

This is an extract from the commentary section:

Fam Pro Rules 2

The eagle-eyed reader will have spotted the absence of the Family Procedure (Amendment) Rules 2018, which came into force on 4 June. They were published too late for the current @eGlance issue, and will be incorporated within both the Rules themselves and the Amendment Rules tab at the next update.
